Throwback Thursday

Westwood Cycle, NJ. Summer 1984. Not many people know this but Ron Wilkerson rode for GT for a short time before going to HARO.

This stop in NJ would have Ron, his partner on the 2Hip Team Rich Avella and Eddie Fiola and Dave Breed all at one stop. Look at all the BMX racers in the picture, LOL! Cross Pollination!

For more BMX and brittle crazines pick up my book, “The Average BMXer” available on Kindle, and on Lulu.com in e-pub and Hardcover form.

Stop making fun! Yes this was a “trick” in 1984. Spin around on the tire, boom go back…stone age freestyle on the first @redlinebicycles freestyle bike. Still rocking my @vans shoes. Dems was deh days! #bmx #njbmx #njbmxfreestyle #oldschoolbmxfreestyle #oldschoolbmx oh and I’m wearing a cut off 1981 @bob_haro freestyle tour shirt. #reppin
Man this is like over 25 years ago!! Anyway, during the dead age of BMX freestyle, I still had my old HVTT quarter and did drag it around on occasion. This time to the first Dunellen Street Fair in my town. We were a hit and I got in a few local papers. Riding of course a @harobmx master. Good times even though BMX freestyle had gone underground. #oldschoolbmxfreestyle #oldschoolbmx #njbmx #haro #njbmxfreestyle
