For the really old school NJ BMX rider the name JV Bicycles should be very familiar. This shop and its crew was responsible for putting NJ BMX on the map in the mid 80’s and was home to not only a huge east coast national at its track
located in Braddock Park across from Manhattan but also for promoting freestyle BMX in its earliest days by having the Vans Freestyle Team at the track with names like Dominguez, Blyther, Itson and Aparijo all showing up there. In the ad below James’s kids are featured in in an ad about a new low priced bike they introduced named after the classic Winter Shootout series held every winter in the Jersey City Armory. Great times to be a BMXer.
