@ehtbmx known for its BMX racing nationals and at one point the track operator there years ago telling me and I quote “there will never be another ABA (now the @usabmx organization) track in NJ” also, over 2 decades ago, had a freestyle contest there in the hockey rink next to the track. This is me locomoting to a placing in like the novice class or something. By now General Bikes was history and I was back riding a @harobmx bashguard master. So…this is Jeff Mayer skying over me while I do an air turning in the opposite direction I normally do. The thing about this shot though is I sorta stalled at the top of the ramp this time and swore Jeff was gonna land on me…luckily he was way overhead and cleared me by a mile. #closecalls Circa 1988 the last days of General Bicycles. #oldschoolbmxfreestyle #oldschoolbmx #njbmx #oldschoolnjbmx #oldschoolbmxlife Check it out...

One of the first places that had us doing shows was Point Pleasant Bicycles in Point Pleasant NJ. This was the second year we were there and at this point we had a little deal with @kuwaharausa bikes to ride their bikes. This is yours truly rocking a cherrypicker in front of the shop. This is NOT me. This is @ron2hip555 busting out big time on our old quarter pipe at a lynch comp in palisades NJ about 1987-88. So many great riders from that era from the east coast were there and the flatland was off the hook. Ron was there for a flat demo. This is the site of the first freestyle show I ever did. The Jersey City Armory in Jersey City, NJ. The winter months saw races here on an almost weekly basis and the east coast’s best racers competed on this wooden track with 3 obstacles. It was crazy and at one point we even had Scot Breithaupt’s old fiberglass berm in there. NJ BMX history. These races were run by James Vincent of JV Bicycles and sanctioned by the ABA which is now USABMX. It was a wild time in the early 80’s. #bmx #njbmx #oldschoolbmxfreestyle #oldschoolbmx #usabmx #jerseycity Check it out...
