On our list of cool places to go is Jim Thorpe, PA. It’s nestled in the Lehigh valley and is one of the most scenic small towns in the Northeast. It’s also home to the PA Burlesque festival and since Miss Chrissy and I have not been to a good burlesque in awhile we knew we had to go! We stayed at the great Inn at Jim Thorpe right in the middle of town and had two amazing days and nights of not having to drive and having a really fun time. The opera house where they hold the event was outstanding and really gave everything a sense of class. The surrounding area has tons of stuff to do from bike trails to white water rafting, even a train ride that goes for over 25 miles. There’s also a gluten free, health conscious restaurant coming to town this fall…just in time for Boolesque! We sat up front both nights and I was able to get a few shots of the festivities that didn’t completely suck. Check ’em out. If you have an open mind, want to have a few laughs and aren’t a prude, check out a burlesque show sometime, it’s different. (Chrissy was blown away by the woman who stripped to Iron Maiden…I mean, how core can you get? I thought the majorette who rocked to super freak was awesome, she threw it down.) All these shots are off my iPhone 5s so they aren’t DSLR quality but hey, who’s sitting there stressing on a camera?!
