For a few years I actually did a BMX magazine devoted to the NJ scene. This grew out of a zine I was doing for a few years called NJBMX Szine. Magcloud started doing low run print mags and I said WTF and went for it. They sold to a couple shops and to riders in the area and for those years BMX comps and riders were “in the magazines” in NJ. This was issue 1 right here. I still do a magazine but now I do it with @talliss8 , it is for pinups and it’s amazing how many people want to contribute to that as opposed to BMX. Creativity is my passion. If you’d like to see these magazines go to magcloud.com and search BMXNJ . Ride on buds…and buddettes… @animalbikes @sebikes #bmx #bmxmagazine #njbmx Check it out...
A long time ago…about 1991, my team was asked by Bob Warnicke of the now defunct NBL to do a show at the USA Cycling Hall of Fame in Somerville, NJ to soften up their members to the idea of BMX being included. We went for it and became the first freestylers to show the road bike elite what BMX meant to us “freaks”. We did a good show with @gsbrodney and Eric Fleming and a couple other locals. Afterwards we broke bread in full freestyle outfits with those roadies and showed them that BMX was more than little kids. Not long after Stu would be inducted along with many others. But we were there first showing them BMX up close. Of all the little things we did this I am most stoked on. Luckily my Dad was there snapping me doing this table on my @harobmx 91 Master right in front of the hall. Salute to all the BMX homies who fought to make this all a reality. We rocked the normal world. @oldschoolbmxtv @bob_haro @usacycling @usabmx Check it out...
Yours nuttily at the 1985 AFA Masters Finals in New Hampshire. Pretty sure I got dead last in expert ramp there. Anyway. This is Dan Menapace’s awesome kick turn ramp that he built which we trucked up to NH along with our new 1/4 for the weekend. Great times in the stone age of BMX freestyle. @oldschoolbmxtv Check it out...

By 1989 the idea of a wedge ramp as a show ramp had disappeared. The only thing I could come up with that sort of replicated what we were doing at the time was a launch, and grind box with wedge attached. Stone age street. Somewhere in the midwest in the summer of 89. In the air is Sean Leslie who would go on to tour with GT and Mirra… Check it out...
While Brad McCarty skies, I do mic duties in Michigan. The General 1989 “Lost In States” Tour. Yea. I named it. A few weeks later that rig would have a blown transmission in Indiana where we would be saved by @kipbmx ‘s gang of BMXers. After this tour I quit General and within 2 years the Rampateria would be born. @oldschoolbmxtv 30 years ago this summer… Check it out...
