Yea, I talked about this over the late winter and spring and I…hmmm, we, are releasing it to the general public. Anyone who knows me from BMX will remember BMXNJ Szine and Magazine that was published from 2005 to 2012. The last year or so though I’ve sort of lost the drive to do a “BMX only” magazine and wanted to branch out into showcasing other stuff that interested me as the drive of just getting content from BMX was becoming more daunting in the state of NJ.
Besides as a lifelong BMXer I know all of us who ride are more than just…riders. We have all kinds of interests, so I figured why not show what crazy peeps who do what we do, get up to.
I shot some ideas across my gal Christine and since we were launching our new web store chateauwoowoo.com we decided why not do a magazine devoted to the antics we get up to and the people we know meet and hang with.
…and here that idea is. This first issue is filled with left over stuff from the winter of BMX in the area from Jump For Joy to The Winter Classic at Black Diamond. It also has some pinup stuff, pen and ink artwork as well as some commentary on the storm that changed everything, Sandy.
Going forward, since we are no longer tied to just NJ and BMX, expect to see much more eclectic stuff in here. Interviews with artists, roller derby ladies, surfers, write ups on events outside of BMX, more pinups, more art, photography and the bios on photographers…and so on, etc, henceforth, yadda yadda.
The magazine’s tag line is “Wherever We End Up”, so you can expect pretty much anything out of it. If you’ve been to our place you know how strange it can get.
