In the 80’s having a half pipe in your backyard was a big deal. I did not have a backyard at the time but my friend Tom Nieradka did. So we built this.
An 8′ tall 18′ wide halfpipe with a channel. Unfortunately the transitions got f-ed up and the walls were all different vert sizes. Still, it was fun and many days were had ripping this thing up. Tom would eventually ring his bell on it and drop out of BMX and the end would come not long after for this ramp. Which was actually feature in Freestyle BMX magazine at one point with the General Team…
